2004. Casa Las Cañadas
Las Cañadas Residence
Zapopan, Mexico.
Area: 250 M2
In partnership with Nicolás Rizo
The concept was born from two difficulties: both the terrain and the local restrictions (construction regulations of the neighborhood) are very complicated. The solar is located face to a wonderful ravine (Barranca de Huentitán), a splendid panoramic view. The project consists basically in a 250 square meter house, with a specific program required by the client.
It was necessary to avoid as much excavation as possible, thus the concept was to follow the topographic surface whit volumes lying on the natural level milestones and to include an internal patio-garden, so that the house wraps the nature, as the nature wraps the house, and give the family also poetic alternative spaces to create intimacy, instead of "only" expose them to the breathtaking (but overwhelming) views of the ravine.
